5.  Self-reflectionPaper: The purpose of the self-reflection essay is forstudents to examine how their history, values, emotions, and/or beliefscontribute to their understanding of class material or concepts.  One ofthe primary requirements is the ability to look at oneself openly and honestlyand to convey such awareness in the essay.  Students are to address thefollowing:

Withreference to research and theorists, describe your relationships with principlecare givers in your life and with the environment in which you were raised andhow these have affected your development as a person.  How has yourexperience changed as you have become an adult?  What is your understandingof how your experience and development differs from your parents’, children’s,and/or grandparents’ experience? 

Bringin material from the readings and peer-reviewed research (please use your text and four to five peer reviewed journals)   and illustrate it withyour developmental experience as case material.  The paper should be 7-9pages in length.
