Task
Global University London (GUL) comprises over 400 buildings, mainly in around the Kings Cross and St Pancras areas of London but also across the rest of the capital city and the UK. These buildings meet a range of needs including research, teaching and learning, administration and student accommodation.
Focusing on delivering world class teaching and research, the University has nearly 45,000 students and 15,000 members of staff.
The University wishes to upgrade the Council Room. The Council Room is where key meetings of the senior management team take place. It is also where meetings with prestigious persons such as Nobel laureates and key donors and alumni take place. It is important that the University has a world class meetings space for these prestige meetings.
The GUL Committee system has just approved this refurbishment project with a budget of £495,000.
A PMO has recently been established by GUL Estates. One of the tasks of the PMO is to gather information on projects to facilitate senior management decision making.
You work in the PMO team.
The Director of Projects would like you to develop a reporting template that would be suitable for this project. If it is successful it will become the template used for project reporting across the University.

Your submitted report file will be marked anonymously. Your file name should be: module title and name of coursework. Do NOT include your name or student number within the file name or anywhere within your submission. The submission will be subject to anonymous marking. Having logged into Turnitin on Blackboard, the system will record your details anonymously and tutors will only see your name after the entire submission has been assessed and provisional marks have been released to all students at the same time.
Referencing
When writing a report, you will need to support your arguments by referring to published work such as books, journal or newspaper articles, government reports, dissertations and theses, and material from the Internet. All work must be fully referenced and follow the correct referencing style guide.It is expected that you use the Harvard Referencing style within this work.
Prioritisation – How to do it?
1.Programme sponsor and management agree criteria to drive prioritization
2. If there are a number, agree a weighting importance ( total score of all criteria should be 100)
3. Agree a rating system (maybe 0, 5, 10)
4. Score each project
5. Use this to ‘force rank’ priortisation.
What will the PMO do?
1.The service it provides will depend on the problems it is resolving, depending on what senior management/sponsor require.
