Learning Activity: Context
As contextual analysis is essential to solid Biblical scholarship, this activity will call for you to do a contextual analysis on your definitive passage. Select an online Bible Dictionary, Bible Atlas, Biblical Encyclopedia, etc. and write a 1 2 page paper discussing the context of your passage. Discuss its unique location within scripture (the paragraph within the chapter within the book within testament within the Bible), the original audience/culture, as well as the geographical setting it was written in. In your final paragraph, describe how the insights gleaned from context have influenced your understanding of the passage.
