7. Sutherland’s differential association, proposition #3 did not support the role of the media in being able to influence learning criminal behavior. He developed this theory in 1947. In 2021, discuss how today, the media (movies, videos, games, music, television) may actually be able to influence the learning of criminal behavior based on this theory OR you can side with Sutherland and discuss how the media still is unable to influence learning crime. 9. Explain the differences in Hirschi’s social bond theory and Hirschi and Gottfredson general theory of crime. Although Hirschi was an author of both theories, how are they different from each other? Consider how they view crime and how crime happens.
10. Discuss your thoughts on ONE social process theory that best explains why some people engage in crime. Explain the theory. Give two reasons why you chose that theory, and it makes the most sense in why people commit crime (from the social process grouping).
