Data Analysis and Outcome Dissemination Planning quantitative and qualitative data analysis is one of the areas in program evaluation about which I feel confident when undertaking. Both quantitative and qualitative data analysis is time-consuming and difficult (Newcomer et al., 2015). However, I could plan my study before collecting my data for the program to ensure that the data are valuable and meaningful. I am confident in planning the programs quantitative and qualitative analysis because I got helpful resources to get more insights into preparing data analysis in project evaluation. Besides, I am more confident in conducting data analysis since I am conversant with data analysis methods, especially the quantitative and qualitative methods. I can use these methods to analyze a program quantitatively and qualitatively. Based on these methods, I can also present the data results in graphs and tables for straightforward interpretation. However, I do not feel confident when conducting statistical analysis and sharing results with stakeholders. I am not satisfied when using statistical software to analyze data collected from the program. This area has been challenging for me since I am not conversant with using SPSS software. As a result, I need to develop this area further beyond the course. I will use this challenging area as a catalyst for understanding the statistical analysis of data using SPSS software. I will use existing resources on SPSS software to learn how I can analyze data using this software. By doing so, I will analyze data collected from the program participants using this statistical tool. I am not confident when sharing outcomes with stakeholders because I do not understand their needs and preferences. I do not have a plan explaining how I will share program outcomes with all stakeholders. This challenge emanates from the fact that I do not understand stakeholders and their information preferences and needs. As a result, I need to develop this area beyond the course by developing an outcome dissemination plan based on the stakeholders’ needs and preferences. I will grow my knowledge in this area by learning how to conduct a stakeholder analysis to develop an effective dissemination plan. I will use existing resources talking about outcome dissemination and stakeholder analysis to gain more insights into this area. 2)
Two areas I would like to improve further than this course include my assessment and presentation skills. In terms of collecting data through assessments, I am not always fluent. I tend to have to go through the assessment process question by question instead of making it more of a conversational approach. This is something I want to keep building at to become much stronger and confident in the data I am seeking to receive in this aspect. As far as the outcome dissemination, I am working to become stronger with presenting in front of an audience. I tend to become nervous even I have everything done on my end. I want to become much more comfortable in the work that I have put in and present when necessary. My plan to build in these areas includes practice. The more I perfect areas that I am involved with, the more fluent and comfortable I become. Also, I have worked hard at stopping myself from comparing myself to other clinicians. Being that I am always the youngest person in the office, I typically work with older individuals. These individuals tend to have many more years in the field and experience. I have to constantly remind myself that I am growing and will be great in different areas. I plan to practice and take notes from others and apply them to develop these areas.
