Stages and activities of the assignment 2: climate project
Dear students,
As the nature of teamwork, I am sure you will make an amicable and advantageous collaborations
toward accomplishment of your group research project.
These seven stages are an overall activity description for your group project:
1. Understanding and investigating the climate characteristics of the allocated Australian city
(city 1) for your group.
2. Finding an appropriate city (city/region 2) around the world which has similar weather and
climate conditions to the city 1 and collecting data that shows this similarity.
3. Investigating passive Heating methods and strategies in design and construction of at least
three outstanding traditional buildings and vernacular architecture in the city/region 2.
4. Investigating passive Cooling methods and strategies in design and construction of at least
three outstanding traditional buildings and vernacular architecture in the city/region 2.
5. Investigating passive Lighting and Sound management methods and strategies in design
and construction of at least three outstanding traditional buildings and vernacular architecture
in the city/region 2.
6. Adaption and interpreting methods and strategies from stages 3,4 and 5 to up-to-date
construction techniques and adapting them to today’s design practice to be used in the city 1.
7. Compilation and managing all the above stages and organising them in the standard system
of academic research regarding structure, format, referencing, and conclusion of the project.
