HINT

1. You don’t need any special knowledge of construction cranes or of construction sites to attempt this exercise, just a general knowledge of the sorts of reasons (Mechanism) that could make such a thing (whether that big or much smaller) collapse. Similarly for the Outcome – no special knowledge needed.
2. You could provide me your response as a scanned PDF of a hand drawn diagram (or two) and a written explanation as required in the statement of the task or you could use graphics on your word processor or a spreadsheet even (with cell borders used to create the shape). Acceptable file types are .doc, .pdf, .xls
3. For those of you who like to read ahead or who know about these tools already, I do not need you to include any logic symbols (AND, OR, etc.) in the Mechanism analysis nor do I need any probability estimates
   I am interested in evidence that you understand what these two Risk Analysis methods are trying to achieve and how and the way in which the logic diagrams associated with them are used.
