McQuillon, LaTonya BU5I6163 Cross-Cultural Management Sunday, September 5, 2021Select Product-Service: Individual Cross-Sectional Cultural Management Plan and PresentationThe Cross-Cultural Paper and Presentation in Unit 3 is THE major part of the course grade, and requires the students to identify a product or service to be “exported-to or manufactured-in” a foreign country of their choosing. Identify the country, product or service, and type of business in Unit 1.BEAUTY PRODUCTS IMPORTATIONTopIcAr Paper— I am choosing to use the topic of Beauty Products Importation from China for my Cross-Cultural Paper & Presentation. While beauty products are typically quite expensive to purchase in salons, they can be imported quite cheaply from overseas and resold for considerable markup and profit. These products can be manufactured in an overseas location in China and then exported to various suppliers in and out of the US. Another option is for the US to import these products directly from China and other countries and export them to multiple suppliers especially in the US and neighboring countries. Regardless of the economic climate, these items are typically always in demand —especially with the female demographic. Of the total beauty products that the US imports, 20% come from China, followed by 17% from France, and 15% from Canada. In general, the higher-end products are purchased from France, Canada, and Italy, while low-value products are sourced from China and Mexico. Even in the midst of a Pandemic, the beauty industry and demand for the items has not decreased.
