DNP Proposal
Using the attached DNP Project Proposal and CDC model as guides, write a 4- 6 page paper describing the evaluation process for a clinical project of interest. If you have selected your DNP project PICOT question and have an idea of the program you are going to develop for your project, I would strongly suggest using that as the basis for this paper. The paper must follow APA format and have a title page and references. Margins should be 1” all around. Use Times New Roman 11 or 12 point font. Assignment #4 rubric attached.
The outline for this paper must include elements of the CDC model we covered in class:
Identification and engagement of stakeholders
Describe the program/project – include significance of the problem and objectives—why is this project important? And what are the outcomes you hope to see?
Evaluation design (what is the method you plan to use to conduct the evaluation e.g. pre and post- test design? Survey with Likert scale? Review of secondary data?)
Gather credible evidence (data analysis plan—what statistical test(s) will you apply to your data?)
Describe your dissemination plan
I would advise you to use the DNP proposal guideline headings (see below-DNP Project Writing Guidelines, 2022), as your final paper headings. Do NOT use page length requirements for the DNP Project you will be developing in future classes. For this assignment, you are writing an abbreviated 4-6 page proposal.
This narrative may be written as future-tense (proposal) or past tense (completed DNP project) using fictitious data–however, the narrative you write, and the fictitious data you choose to use should be plausible.
Here is my PICOT Question
Question 1.2- A clinical question for my DNP project that I would pose would be my target population: Problem (P) African American men between the age of 40 to 80 years old with high blood pressure. They are all patients in the clinic that I did my clinical rotation last semester, and it will be the clinic I will still be in when I do my DNP project.
a- The clinic has a high number of African American people who have limited income and no insurance or money to buy medications and get healthcare that they need. This group has uncontrolled high blood pressure with risk of complications.
b- A comprehensive literature review revealed there is a lack of knowledge in the African American populations on high blood pressure, and lack of self-management skills resulted in uncontrolled high blood pressure associated with many complications (Twum-Asante, 2015). African Americans comprise 13.2% of the total population in the U.S. Intervention (I) the intervention for this population will be to implement an educational program on HTN specific to the African American population utilizing poster boards and handouts, followed by blood pressure check at 4 weeks and 8 weeks. Comparison (C) no comparison groups will be used for the EBP change project, but pretest and post-test design will be used to assess the participant’s knowledge and self management skills level. Outcome (O) the outcome knowledge of HTN, complications, and self- management skills will be based on the analysis of the pre-tests and post-tests.
