Introduction
Aviation is efficient and cost-effective means of transportation that impact global economic and social stability. Practical aviation is critical to the economic viability of international trade, cargo and people transport, and disseminating knowledge and expertise (Price & Forrest, 2016). However, there are threats and severe security challenges in the field of aviation. Lawbreakers see aviation as a symbol of modern business and affluence, making it a highly appealing target. Security personnel created Transport Security Administration (TSA) in response to increased terrorist attacks, especially in the USA on 11th September 2001 (Baker, 2020).
The problem
The problem is that ensuring adequate security is vast to not handling all possible attack scenarios before terrorists think of them. Criminal and terrorists have used airports and aircraft to perform unlawful activities, such as smuggling drugs, stolen goods, cash and weapons. Personal greed, extremism, religious beliefs, and economic and political factors lead to this issue, e.g., the USA al-9/11 Qaeda occurred (Baker, 2020; Price & Forrest, 2016). The aviation sector has long been an appealing target for terrorists of all ideological and political stripes (Baker, 2020), e.g., hijackings in the 1970s and al-9/11 Qaeda’s attack (Baker, 2020).
Significance of the Problem
Without airport security at this rising terrorism, the airport would be exposed to criminals and terrorists launching disbelief and devastating attacks (Baker, 2020). Airport senior management or directors should oversee the airport’s activities, besides maintenance personnel guarantees that airfield lighting systems and other vital field systems, fleets, and buildings are safe and operational (Price & Forrest, 2016). The administrative personnel manage information technology, human resources, accounting (Price & Forrest, 2016).-without a clearly stated problem statement I cannot determine what the consequences of it are. You need to focus on the requirement to provide a minimum of three consequences directly related to your problem.
Development of Alternative Actions
Alternative 1
Security personnel should screen air travellers, cargo, airport workers, aircraft, crew, and baggage (Baker, 2020). Advantages. Ensuring passenger safety. Minimizing illegal goods trafficking (Baker, 2020). Disadvantages. Intangible costs of security measures include the time wasted by travellers undergoing security processes. The inconvenience and privacy issues of security screening.
Alternative 2
Security officers should undertake security escorts in the hangar area and patrols and confirm travellers identities (Baker, 2020). The advantage is that such screening serves as minimum security requirements to ensure protection, and the airport’s security systems deter criminals from conduction terrorism and drug trafficking. The disadvantage is that passengers may feel bothered and their confidentiality violated.
Recommendation
With limited resources to control aviation security, use a government-issued photo ID to verify a traveller’s identity (Price & Forrest, 2016, p. 434). These actions ensure the protection of civil aviation against acts of unlawful interference (Baker, 2020). Verification ensures integrity, safety, and authentic records. However, it may raise concerns about passenger data protection, disease spread and may lower customer satisfaction.-the intent of the recommendation is for you to identify a resolution to your problem if you have un-limited resources. You have simply identified what is currently being done.
