How do you feel about this story? Did it shock you? What did you think of the setting (e.g. the first couple of paragraphs)? Did it prepare you for the very dark turn that the story takes? Does the story have any relevance for our American reality today? Do we ever turn on one person like the citizens of the village do at the end? (Don’t have to answer all the questions!)

I’m not asking you for a mini-paper or an analysis with a thesis and so forth. The most important thing is that it be YOUR response to the story, not the response of someone on the internet. You will get full credit for the journal so long as you make a reasonable attempt at it.

Write about a page, double-spaced, Times font, 12pt.
