Assignment Instructions
In the text, the author states that “public policy is finding out what governments do, why they do it, and what difference it makes”. Choose a government entity – such as the Department of the Interior. Based on your readings of Chapters 1 and 2 of the text, in narrative format, provide a well-developed discussion of what you would hope to learn from your chosen government entity through policy analysis. Section 1.3 in the text will be particularly helpful in guiding your response to this part of the assignment. In your discussion, apply the three-way relationship of public policy, its causes and outcomes that the author presents in Chapter 1 of the text. Conclude with a summary of the policy analysis process as you understand it – in the context of your chosen government entity.
Please do not attempt a full policy analysis of the government entity. Rather, apply the key processes as presented in Chapters 1 and 2 of the text to demonstrate how you understand policy analysis in the context of a government agency. You may wish to visit agency websites to learn of agency mission, responsibilities, etc. if you are not familiar with public sector organizations.

apply acceptable standards of college-level writing style, grammar, punctuation usage, and spelling,
