Paper Topic
Domestic violence is not only a human services problem, but it is also a socioeconomic problem as well. Financial literacy and stability are two things that many victims of domestic violence lack. While women are primarily affected by this type of violence, it is not exclusive to women. Oftentimes, financial dependence on a partner, loved one or caregiver can lead to the victim staying in their situation and being fearful of leaving. In my paper, I want to address the financial aspect of domestic violence and show how to help individuals going through this using the medical model, public health model, and human services model.
