Many schools have written statements describing their philosophy of education. Ask several schools to send you a copy of their philosophy of education. When you receive them, look for similarities and differences among the philosophical statements.
As you visit schools and classrooms, focus on the approaches to discipline that teachers employ. What do these approaches imply about teachers’ views of human nature?”
