Personal – Professional Narrative Paper

Understanding why I am the way I am has always been something that crosses my mind; then looking around me I start to think about why others are who they are—knowing how the mind works and how simple situations can that something so simple as falling off a bike while learning can shape people differently and cause them to change from that moment on, is fascinating to me. Learning how the mind works and connecting to something so small but forgotten can strongly influence the person is genuinely baffling. Yet using this knowledge to help others is what I want to learn and do as my career is more of a passion for becoming a psychologist and helping others in need.

This major is a passion for me, I want to help others how I have been helped before. At a young age I have experienced a traumatic event and to be able to talk to somebody about it and work with easing the trauma and living a normal life was something I’ll never forget, so this is why it is so meaningful for me to also be able to help others through their situation also. Although it is my passion it is a very practical career that will help with achieve more in my life well living comfortably and not in a minimum wage job for how I am now. Yet I would still continue down this major and career path for it’s something that I’d love to become and do every day.
