In this week’s reading we learned about the connection between brain and behavior.  We learned about brain development and the neural communication that is necessary in order to deliver information.  

For this week’s discussion assignment, begin by describing, in your own words, the action of the neuron and how neurons communicate with each other.  Make sure your description is detailed and that you are referencing specific structures involved in the communication process.  

Next, conduct outside research on a neurotransmitter that interests you.  Report on how the neurotransmitter operates in the synapse and how it influences cognition, emotions, sleep, motor functioning, or behavior.
