After read the paper I uploaded, I need
research proposal
Draft a proposal for your project. Include a clear statement of your research question or hypothesis, a description of why this is an interesting and/or critical area to study, and your plan for finding resources.
You DO NOT need to include a works cited page at the end of your proposal, but you should provide information about your prospective sources within the text. The research proposal is in essay form, do not format it as a numbered list. Use the following headings: Overview, Research Plan, Project Timeline.
Overview: The overview should answer the question: “What will you be researching?” It should describe your topic and why you think it’s an important one to research. It doesn’t have to be earth-shattering, but try to articulate why this topic is a good fit for you.
Research Plan: The Research Plan tells the reader HOW you plan to conduct your research. What kinds of sources will you use? Do you have any in mind already?
Timeline: This is where you start to map out WHEN you will accomplish your tasks. Obviously, the completion date is set by the course, but there is flexibility in terms of your writing process.
progress report and annotated bibliography
Prepare a one to two page progress report that contains the following information: research topic, research questions, hypothesis (if applicable), description of your research process to date, and any problems or obstacles you have encountered. Describe your next steps in the research process.
Please submit an annotated bibliography of at least four entries. You may use either MLA or APA citation style for the source information. Each entry should contain the following information:
Citation
Author information
Who is the author? What is her/his background? Is the author qualified to write this document?
Author’s purpose
What is the author’s purpose in writing this article or doing this research? Is the purpose stated or implied? Does the author have a particular message?
Audience information
To what audience is the author writing (scholars, teachers, the general public, etc.)? Is this reflected in the author’s style of writing or presentation?
Author bias
Does the author show any biases or make assumptions upon which the rationale of the article rests? If so, what are they?
Information source
What methods did the author use to obtain the data? Is the article based on personal opinion, experience, interviews, library research, questionnaires, laboratory experiments, empirical observation, or standardized personality tests?
Author conclusion
What conclusions does the author draw? Are these conclusions specifically stated or implied?
Time frame
Is the work current? Is this important? How does the time in which it was written reflect on the information contained in this work?
Research paper (need to edit, add 2 more pages)
Your research paper must meet the following criteria:
Have a thesis
Include at least one primary source, such as an interview, advertisement, government document, newspaper article (if used historically), or survey.
Use at least five secondary sources, preferably peer-reviewed such as journal articles and book chapters. While you must have a minimum of five sources, there is no magic number of sources that will make a good paper. If you have 10 sources and still have a gap in your information, then you need more. If you have 5 and your article is beautifully supported, then you do not need more. You may be marked down if you meet the minimum requirement, yet obviously needed more sources to support your claims.
Be between 8-12 pages, 12 pt, Times New Roman Font, with 1-inch margins, double-spaced
Properly cite all of your sources according to the style of your choice (MLA, APA, etc.) This includes a properly formatted Works Cited page. Follow all other formatting guidelines for your style, such as headings, title page, etc.
