Research Methodology (Literature Review)
Methodology or Methods & Materials chapter will have a similar content for both the review and project-based research article. For the research article, students can describe which statistical methods, software, instruments, etc. have be used in the literature to show the benefits and disadvantages of the previous work. The following information should be included in this chapter:
Possible approaches to solve the problem
What lean/six sigma tools are used to investigate the problem?
Why are these appropriate methods?
What are the risks of the chosen methods?
A summary of the work that was carried out to solve the problem.
Organize your presentation so the readers will understand the logical flow of the experiments; subheadings work well for this purpose. Each experiment or procedure should be presented as a unit, even if it was broken up over time. The experimental design and procedure are sometimes most efficiently presented as an integrated unit, because otherwise it would be difficult to split them up. In general, provide enough quantitative detail (how much, how long, when, etc.) about the experimental protocol such that other scientists could reproduce the experiments.
