Maki question 3: A protein called Rad99 was recently identified in a screen for factors that bind the DNA repair protein Rad51. It was observed that Rad99 localizes in foci in the nucleus at short time points after radiation. These findings suggested Rad99 may promote DNA repair. A time course was carried out monitoring the number of Rad99 nuclear foci after ionizing radiation. This was done in either untreated cells, or in cells treated with a compound called RI-1, which inhibits HR DNA repair. Draw what you think the results would look like for this experiment in the graph below.
