In academic research, a database is a place that contains many articles from different sources. As a college student, it is imperative that we learn how to find a source inside our college library database. Typically, these are the sources that we list at the end of a research paper (not an essay) on a Works Cited page. Go to the top of page 477 to view an example of this page. Pay attention to page 478; this page shows you all the different kind of sources where information can come from. Below are the instructions to complete the following graded assignment

Understanding the key roles of these three databases equips you with the knowledge you need to locate information for the research paper. Today’s class taught you about how to locate credible sources via the KCC Library Database. Such databases include Lexis Nexis, Academic Search Complete, and New York Times. Read pages 296 and 297 to understand this Annotated Bibliography, before beginning the assignment.

Assignment Prompt

Use the KCC library database to locate the following 3 kinds of articles (locate one of each).

One New York Times article from the Lexis Nexis database

One Magazine article using Academic Search Complete

One Peer-Reviewed article using Academic Search Complete

First, read and outline the major ideas within these readings. Second, prepare an Annotated Bibliography to summarize and evaluate the following Five (5) sources (see below).

Your Four (4) annotated sources should consist of the following:

Source (a) A New York Times newspaper article that discusses a problem, concern, or an issue with TNCs or a specific TNC. This article should address a negative view or impact of the TNC.

Source (b) A magazine article that defines what is a global market and explores its importance or value.

Source (c) One Peer-reviewed article (find this article in “Course Readings” on Blackboard)

Source (d) Coffee Culture: Local Experiences, Global Connections – Chapter 4 only
