Final Paper
For this final paper, choose one of the prompts below and one or two of the text we studied in our course this semester. Please be certain to only write on works we studied in our class. Also, be certain to closely read the text(s) you choose, and situate these literary works within its historical and cultural moment. Use our textbook, introductions and appendices, to explore the biography of the writer(s) and issues surrounding the important themes in the fictional text(s).

The only secondary source to be used in this paper must be from our textbook. Random internet sources are not allowed.

A successful paper will:

Have a strong compelling thesis that considers the complexity of the text
Rigorously and thoughtfully critically analyze specific moments in the text
Use textual evidence to support all claims and assumptions
Engage in a rich and substantive academic style that reveals a strong and lively writing voice.
Requirements:
A clearly defined argument that is judiciously supported with textual evidence
A minimum of 4 pages
MLA format that includes 1” margins; double space;
12 point and Times New Roman font
Failure to adhere to any of these requirements will result in a lower grade
