Summative Essay
Purpose
In the last semester of the RN-BSN Program, the student will submit a summative essay that documents achievement of the RN- BSN Program Outcomes. This experience provides the student with an opportunity to reflect on their course of study while in the program and evaluate their academic and professional experiences while pursuing their BSN degree.
Explanation
A synthesis(summary) puts together many different ideas in a single essay. It provides the student with the opportunity to illustrate existing knowledge and use this knowledge to support the mastery of content in the program. In utilizing the BSN Program Outcomes, the student will identify how they have met each outcome while in the program.

Use each of the following as sub headings within your paper and identify how you feel you have achieved this outcome while in the RN-BSN Program. This is a reflective essay and is therefore, very individualized from what you have experienced.
