End of Life
The topic that I chose for my paper is End of Life – physician assisted suicide. Physician assisted suicide is known as a person voluntarily taking their own life with the help of a medical professional, usually the physician. I choose this topic because this choice is usually made by the patient and how they preferable like to reach their end of life care, and that means a lot to me considering the passing of two grandparents in the past two years. There are many ethical issues in this topic both pros and cons and as I understand both sides, this topic is very sensitive. Within this topic, I will apply different ethical topics and discuss the principles of self-interest and autonomy regarding end of life care for patients. Many times the dying process is often consequently marked by intolerable pain, and if there is a way to prevent this, then it should be a right to the patients.
