Why is Jose having trouble controlling his body weight?

Jose sedentary lifestyle is one of the problems with his weight management. When Jose is not competing, his normal job is an office job where he is stationary for the majority of the day. Sedentary behaviour can have an impact on the body such as gravitostat, the body’s weight homeostat, and weight gain, adiposity, and elevated chronic inflammation (Park et al.,2020).

Another problem is Jose consuming a high-calorie diet. The high-calorie diet is a great way to gain weight and lean muscle when competing. But since Jose is not competing and still consuming this diet without pairing it with physical activity can contribute to the weight gain, he is experiencing (Hall et al.,2019).

What are the glaring concerns regarding his diet?

Some things that are concerning about Jose diet is his diet and sedentary lifestyle. Living a sedentary lifestyle with little physical activity during his offseason is bad because he is not keeping his body lean. So, when he starts to compete again it is like he must train his body all over again. His high-calorie diet can be a concern. Even though he eats well and consume the majority of his calories from healthy foods it can still lead to some weight gain. If not controlled the weight gain can lead to obesity (Belfort-DeAguliar&Seo,2018).
