Extra Credit

All extra credit is submitted to Carmen and is due by your final recitation meeting. Details for each extra credit opportunity are provided below. Check back here or on Carmen for any updates or new opportunities throughout the semester.

Option 1: Attend a Student Organization Meeting

Worth 2 points for each attendance.

Attend a student organization meeting and then provide a brief description of the experience. This should include: organization name, event date/time, what happened at the event, a short refelection about your experience. Submit this information to Carmen.

Option 2: Meet with any Peer Advisor or Peer Impact Consultant

Worth 2 points.

Peer Advisor:

Download the Peer Advisor Individual Meeting worksheet from Carmen and bring it to walk in hours with a Peer Advisor. (You can be paper free by using Notability) Be sure to have the peer advisor scan your Fisher Event Pass. All peer advisor office hours can be found at the front desk of 120 Schoenbaum hall or online at: https://fisher.osu.edu/peer-advising

Post a copy of the worksheet to Carmen.

Peer Impact Consultant:

Meet with a Peer Impact Consultant during walk-in hours posted online here: https://fisher.osu.edu/undergraduate/leadership-engagement/student-engagement/peer-impact-consultants).

After the meeting, the PIC will send an e-mail to you with a summary of the appointment; post a copy of the email to Carmen.

Option 3: Attend an FYE Success Series Workshop

Worth 2 points.

Attend an additional FYE Success Series Workshop and complete the reflection. Once you completed the reflection, return to the reflection page and take a screenshot of the completed reflection and upload that to Carmen through the Extra Credit Assignment for credit.

REGISTRATION

To view and register for sessions, visit go.osu.edu/fyss; you will be prompted to enter your university login credentials.

Search for a specific topic or session or browse by theme area. Add sessions to your registration queue before finalizing your selection.

Select ‘Finish Registration’ to be officially registered for the sessions you plan to attend; you will receive an email confirming your registration.

Visit go.osu.edu/FYSSregistration to view a video tutorial that demonstrates the registration process.

ATTENDANCE and REFLECTION

Bring your BuckID to any session you attend so your attendance can be recorded. Students arriving late to or leaving early from a Success Series session may not be recorded as having attended.

Complete an online reflection within seven (7) days of attending a session. Login to the Success Series and click on the Reflections button.

Complete the reflection within twenty minutes of starting or you will need to return to the page.

Attending a Success Series session is not an acceptable excuse for missing Survey or any other class.
