Goldies is a chain of restaurants that has adopted the color gold as a theme for all of its restaurants (e.g., the inside and outside of the restaurant are decorated in shades of gold). It did so after scientific market research indicated that gold was the color found most pleasing by its target customers. To further its theme, Goldies is thinking of adopting the following hiring policy: anyone hired for a job involving any interaction with the restaurant’s customers must have blonde-colored hair. The policy would apply to everyone seeking the positions in question. The essence of Goldies’ business is serving food and beverages.
