Safety Culture in Nursing: individual, practice and system causes of errors. Safety culture can be assessed at two levels, the individual and the organization.

At the individual level, it can be examined by the values, attitudes, behaviors, and norms of its members. At an organizational level, it can be examined by looking at managerial priorities, adequacy of training/supervision, resources, and policies and procedures.

As a result of their constant presence with the patient, nurses play an important role as advocates for the patient/child in their care. The immediate detection and intervention in practice breakdown by nurses to reduce adverse events for patients/children in their care must be a priority.
