You have been presented with six qualitative research methodologies. Four of these methodologies
(Phenomenology, CMM, Narrative, and Case Study) are available for use in the capstone project. Each
approach offers different information and responds to different lines of inquiry depending on how you frame
your research question. This, of course, depends on what it is that you want to know.
The purpose of this assignment is to begin thinking critically about each of the methodologies and which
resonate with you as you move forward in the Capstone process.
Referring back to your review of the four qualitative research methodologies available for capstone
(Phenomenology, CMM, Narrative, Case Study):
Identify the value each has to bring to a research study.
Describe how you resonate with each methodology – Which do you feel more comfortable using? Which is
more of a stretch for you in using comfortably?
Explain what you would need to know or do before feeling comfortable using each methodology.
