You will prepare and submit a term paper on Philosophy of Logic. Your paper should be a minimum of 1250 words in length. For instance, the management board of Memorial Medical Centre was subjected to a tussle when one of its outpatient clinics continuously made losses. The board believed that the clinic should be closed down. However, the clinic was making losses because of its location in the low-income area of the metropolitan, and thus, it offered health care services at a low cost. So the closure of this organization that oriented to saving lives rather than making profits would definitely raise an ethical issue. Therefore, the management requires adopting an ethical approach, hence the incorporation of ethics in its decision-making process.Besides, strict observation of ethical issues before vital decisions enables organizations that offer services to the community and portray their goodwill. Imagine an investment firm that offers advice and products to retirees at an exaggerated fee, thus earning itself more than 100% profit. This kind of organization would appear as a venture aimed at making profits rather than improving society’s welfare. Therefore, adopting an ethical approach in decision making clarifies the firm’s stand and objectives.Philosophy of logic, also referred to as philosophical logic, is an aspect of practical philosophy incorporated in the decision-making process (Quine, 2009). Logics precisely deals with the extent of an event quantified by a mathematical concept. The idea applied in logic could be used to clarify ideas developed from other areas of study. Logics employed the use of terms such as true, false, inconsistent, valid, and self-contradictory. The truth was classified into four categories:Necessary truths are universal perceptions or points of judgment on a statement being true or false. Therefore, organizations aiming to provide services to the community should make decisions based on this universal perception. The impression that the organization creates among the public stipulates its objectives, so an organization should apply these laws of logic to establish activities that would be acceptable to their target groups.

Need help with my writing homework on Addressing the Environmental Risks From Shale Gas Development. Write a 1500 word paper answering; The major concerns about shale gas production have been around the hydraulic fracture process where the shale rock is caused to fracture by hydraulic pressure. The cracks in the rock propagate 500 to 800 feet in all directions from the casing pipe and the effect is similar to an underground seismic shock. The fracture pressure needs to be monitored and controlled to prevent the cracks from spreading beyond the shale gas layer (page 4). The general concern with setting off such underground fractures is that the fissures may permit contamination of underground water aquifers that are used for drinking water (page 7). Most shale gas formations are found 4,000 to 8,500 feet below the surface whereas drinking water sources are rarely more than 850 feet deep (page 8). Seismic monitoring is an essential tool to ensure that the underground cracks do not spread beyond the shale gas formation. However, only 3% of around 75,000 hydraulic fractures carried out in 2009 in the US were seismically-monitored (page 8). An additional concern is with such an underground fracture may lead to earthquakes. The town of Cleburne, Texas has experienced several low-intensity earthquakes under 3.3.on the Richter scale in 2008 and 2009 after the start of shale gas exploration in the area when the region has no recorded earthquakes in the previous 142 years (page 9). Preliminary studies do not find a definite link between shale gas exploration and these earthquakes but the concern remains. The paper does not say whether the hydraulic fractures in the Cleburne area were seismically-monitored. Hydraulic fracturing requires 2 to 8 million gallons of water per well fractured. Though water once used for fracturing can be reused by diluting with fresh water, the Barnett Shale project has used an average of 3 million gallons of fresh water per well and has drilled tens of thousands of such wells (page 12).

Create a 4 pages page paper that discusses ashoka and emperor ashoka ( choose heading). However, a look at some of the stone pillars in some part of the modern-day India proves that such an empire existed. For example in Bihar, India, there are stone pillars that are inscribed with the Emperor’s statues and edicts. Ancient Sanskirt literature also shows that there was a great Emperor called Ashoka. In Sarnath city which is also in India, there are statues of lions which are now part of India’s National emblem (Rao 96). These are the Ashoka lions, of course named after the Emperor Ashoka. He Emperor ordered installation of these pillars (Joshi 60). A look at the statues and some of the stone pillars shows that the Emperor had them inscribed with merciful laws.Based on the evidence from Joshi’s book and a history professor called B.V. Rao, Emperor Ashoka waged a constant war for the first eight years when he was in power. It is also clear that the Emperor had inherited a large empire, which he expanded in his reign to include some of the other Indian subcontinent. He also expanded his empire to the modern-day borders of Burmese eastern border, western side of Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Iran (Rao 94). It was only Sri Lanka and other southern parts of India which remained out of the Emperor’s reach. However, despite the ancient Kalinga kingdom, north of India, being out of his reach, he attacked the kingdom in year 265. He took advantage of the fact that it was his second wife’s homeland, Kaurwaki. The Mauryan Emperor had sought refuge from his hostile half-brothers, in the Kalinga kingdom. He gathered the largest army in Indian history to attach Kalinga, which crumbled after losing most of its warriors. After going through the story about this Emperor and his dynasty I got surprised after discovering that he was one of the many ruthless rulers in human history to change into one of the most respected rulers.
