New Media And Society. The acceptance of new media in society can be traced back to the period of 1980s when computers started becoming accessible by individuals throughout the world. Since then new media has been accepted and used by people all over the world and this media is increasingly becoming a part of every society member’s life. According to Boone, internet users throughout the world account for 2.7 billion of the entire population of the world. This shows that the internet which is one of the examples of new media has gained social acceptance throughout the world. These figures even show that since the new media has been accepted on such a large scale, it has even impacted society (Boone 137). There has been heavy debate on whether new media is positively or negatively impacting the entire society. New media has positively contributed to society and will continue to do so in the shorter as well as in the longer run. New Media has helped in the development of communication, changed the course of history and is building a better future for the entire society. One of the most important areas in which new media have been heavily criticized is communication and development of communication skills. Those who believe that new media has negatively impacted the society argue that new media is hampering the development of communication skills of individuals who are still in their youth. They believe that face to face communication is the only way through which communication skills can be developed as in face to face communication the sender and the receiver of the information can get a better idea regarding what communication strategies prove to be useful and what communication strategies are harmful to the development of social relationships. Although new media restricts face to face communication new media is surely enhancing the communication skills of individuals rather than being an obstacle in the development of an individual’s communication skills.

Treatment of Non-Human Animals. The work is to be 5 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. The public’s perception or points of view before the implementation of such rules fulfils the requirements of the Utilitarian argument which requires that any activity undertaken by human beings should not cause any negative consequence on the second or the third parties. In relation to the rules and regulations meant to protect non-human animals, it is imperative to note that such laws should be encouraged and applied provided the consequences of such rules do not harm humans.Utilitarian theory depicts that human actions are considered ethically upright when the ultimate results do not lead to negative consequences that may cause harm to the intended populace. however, in relation to the formulation of rules and regulations geared towards the protection of non-human animals, it should be noted that greater consideration is awarded to the ultimate outcomes in that they do not cause any harm to humans. The concept of sentience encompasses the human capacity to be conscious, perceive and feel certain life scenarios. it can also be referred to as the aspect of experiencing subjectivity to certain matters. One of the moral significance of sentience emerges from the provisions of animal rights. In relation to the provision of animal rights, sentience plays a crucial role that facilitates the provision of such rights (philosophybites.com).In relation to the Eastern Philosophers, sentience involves the metaphysical capacities of both non-human and human animals to undergo pain and feel consciousness. Human beings may not be in a position to understand the level of consciousness on non-human animals. however, the truth of the matter is that such animals to some extent have the capacity just like human beings to feel pain as well as pleasure since they are living things. In regard to this sentience, provides a pathway or a guideline for the provision of care and other important services for such animals (philosophybites.com).

Career Development Action Plan. The work is to be 15 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page. As I began to consider civil engineering as a suitable career, I became more aware of the time that I spent studying and learning, at my own will, about a great deal of construction, design, and architecture topics, along with mathematics, science, and project management that are all relevant to civil engineering. I am an observant listener and I believe that learning from others’ advice and experiences will be useful input for career development, especially from those who are engaged in the civil engineering profession. At present, I do believe that I possess a number of skills and attributes which may be valuable if I pursue my preferred careers, such as technical skills for design and construction. My analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent use of computer applications are significant in dealing with engineering projects in the future. Moreover, I also possess soft skills such as confidence and team spirit which may be favorable in working with a team. Team performance has been suggested to significantly influence organizational performance (Tarricone and Luca 2002), making such skills critical in contemporary organizations. I strongly believe in the power of motivation and I try to be a good example to others, especially when faced with difficulty. I do not fear unexpected comes as I trust that there is always a solution to a problem. In a state of uncertainty, it is better to be creative and make the best use of opportunities (Vakola and Nikolauo 2005). However, I also have weak points, particularly in management skills. Although I can consider myself as capable of managing projects with my technical abilities and dealing with other people through my values, these are not enough. There is a need for engineers to be highly capable of managing all processes involved in a managerial role to allow for coherence and holism.
