Do you agree with the court that executing minors who commit capital crimes offends the “evolving standards of decency that mark a civilized society” and is thus cruel and unusual punishment? Do you think it is just to create such a blanket rule based strictly on age? Does Chris Simmons (the defendant in Roper v. Simmons) appear to be someone who lacked sufficient maturity to understand the gravity of his act?
