2nd ASSIGNMENT
Similar to a Wall Street analyst, earlier in the term you chose a stock which you have been following. For this assignment you should write a professional analysis of that stock. Your analysis is to cover relevant information for an investor who already owns or is considering buying the stock — you are free to do the analysis any way you want to. You may assume that investors or potential investors who are reading your analysis have a very high level of knowledge about the stock market (so you don’t need to explain conventional financial terms like P-E ratios, although if you use an unconventional tool you may want to briefly explain it). You can use (or not use) any tools or techniques you want. Your analysis should provide a recommendation of BUY/OUTPERFORM, SELL/UNDERPERFORM, or HOLD/NEUTRAL. What is important in this assignment is to provide the best analysis you can in a concise format with the analysis leading to your conclusion about what investors should do with regard to the stock.
The analysis is to be typed (single-spaced) and 3-5 pages in length. Do not address the analysis to any particular investor or person. Your analysis must be in your own words, but I suggest letting others review your work. You are free to include charts, graphs, tables or mathematical analysis – but incorporate these into your 5 pages. There are not necessarily any right or wrong answers, rather your grade will be determined by the quality of your analysis, how well you convey the information, and how well you convince me of your recommendation. THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL STOCK ANALYSIS SO PLEASE REVIEW SOME EXAMPLES IN COURSE DOCUMENTS.
The assignment is due by 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 14. Please be sure to attach a copy of the Value Line page to your analysis (this does not count toward your 5 pages). Late assignments will be heavily penalized. Assignments should be submitted via Blackboard.
