submission, so that it meets the pass requirements for the module. You must clearly indicate the changes you have made in the new submission. Please check your SOLAR results and the submission links on your Aula module page to see when the resit is due.
Assignment Credit: 30 credits
Word Count (or equivalent): 2500-words (+/- 10% overall) and a 15-minute (+/-
10%) presentation. Assignment Type:
Percentage Grade (Applied Core Assessment). You will be provided with an overall
grade between 0% and 100%. To pass the assignment, you must achieve a grade of
40% or above.

Assignment Task This is a composite assessment consisting of three parts addressing the following case scenario: You are a new team leader in XYZ healthcare organisation, your team has been reporting burn-out and is demonstrably less effective than they once were. Utilising systems thinking and leadership theories, how would you tackle this problem paying particular attention to organisational health and wellbeing, while also recognising your own leadership style? Conclude with a critical reflection on what you have learned and areas you wish to develop as a healthcare leader. Part 1 requires you to complete a 1500-word critical analysis on your plans to improving organisational effectiveness and performance detailing how you would approach it with the case scenario Part 2 requires you to complete a 15-minute (+/- 10%) audio or video-recorded PowerPoint (PPT) presentation with speaker notes (500 words) demonstrating theoretical underpinning of your presentation content linked to your Part 3, a 500 word Personal Development Plan towards developing your leadership skills.

All 5 intended module learning outcomes will be demonstrated in the completion of the three-part composite assessment. Part 1: 1500-word Critical analysis (Module LO’s 1,2,3,4,) Critical analysis on plans to improve the organisational effectiveness and performance of the above case scenario – 1500 words Part 2: 15 minutes (+/- 10%) Audio or Video- recorded or Narrated PowerPoint Presentation with speaker notes (500-words) (Module LO’s 1, 2, 5) An audio or video-recorded PowerPoint presentation is to be developed to disseminate the outcome of your exploration of the above case scenario and present a set of recommendations to a strategic leadership/senior management team that address the issues raised. – In case of a narrated PowerPoint presentation the audio must be submitted with the option of audio visual. – The presentation should be a maximum of 11 slides – The slides should include: o An introduction; o A critical exploration of potential causes; o A critical application of how you would utilise the tools and techniques taught within this module to tackle this scenario; o Propose a leadership and development strategy; o Conclude with a critical reflection on XYZ healthcare organisation

Part 3: 500 word Personal Development Plan (PDP) (Module LO’s 1, 5) The PDP (linked to your reflective presentation and scenario) will focus on your short and long-term goals (using, for example SMART (Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound) criteria, PACT (Purposeful, Actionable, Continuous and Trackable) or other equivalent methods), the actions you will take to achieve them, and how you will evaluate your progress. This document is intended for Coventry University Group students for their own use in completing their assessed work for this module. It must not be passed to third parties or posted on any website. Page 4 of 15 The plan should be mapped against your own professional code of conduct (if relevant), the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) codes of professional conduct, and other relevant professional codes of practice/standards and underpinned by appropriate theory. This plan will help you understand approaches for personal and professional development and how to enhance your leadership skills towards becoming a strategic leader.

 

The following are to be noted in the completion of all parts of this coursework: • Ensure you to present a critical discussion on your continuing professional development. • More detailed plans, strategies and other relevant information to support the presentation materials, and speaker notes can be included as appendices. • A single reference list using CU APA style, covering all parts of the coursework (not included in the word count). • Ensure that you have embedded the CMI learning outcomes within the work Submission Instructions: Since there is ONE submission link on Aula, you are required to combine all three parts of the composite coursework into one single (A4 landscape format) PowerPoint file before uploading it. Also note that it MUST be uploaded in A4 Landscape PowerPoint format ONLY and NOT as a pdf Document. You need to combine on the same document all the following parts: • A Cover page (with your Student ID number, module code and name, assessment title, word count), please see template available to download in the module guide. • Part 1 – Critical Analysis (1500 words) in PowerPoint • Part 2 – Audio or video-recorded PowerPoint Presentation, with Speaker notes (500 words) provided as text on the slide immediately following those used for the audio/video Presentation.
