Introduction
Corruption includes any act of bribery, embezzlement and may encompass legal activities and practices in numerous nations. Political corruption occurs when a government official or other employee acts up in their official role for personal gain. On the other hand, corruption exists at all levels of government, including corporations, states, and the federal government.
Problem statement
Criminal activities can transcend the national boundaries resulting in transnational crime organizations. As a result, this kind of relationship creates a danger to the security of the United States and Mexico. Hagedorn (2008) postulate that the connection between the two states is strained due to the transnational criminal organization.
Literature review
This multinational criminal organization dates back to the Prohibition era (1920–1933) when the sale of alcoholic beverages was made illegal (Funderburg, 2014). This ban opened an opening for the underground alcohol industry, which attracted smugglers from neighboring Mexico. However, the rationale of the research question is contradicted by Hinojosa (2021). Hinojosa (2021) noted that the relationship between the two countries is ethical issues such as racism which deters their corporations.
Methods
Research Question
How does the diplomatic relationship between USA and Mexico results in criminal injustice activities?
Research Objectives
To determine the territorial relationship between US and Mexico.
To determine the criminal activities that these countries are involved with.
Data collection
The data used in the study will be retrieved from a secondary source. Gray (2011) explains the feasibility of obtaining secondary sources of data from the internet. Therefore, the Council on Foreign Relations, Transparency International, Bureau of Justice Statistics databases would seed the necessary information for the research.
Significance of the research
US-Mexico has often had a diplomatic relationship that is built on doubt of the system of governance. Therefore, a proper understanding of the relationship would assist in solving the puzzle that exists in terms of drugs and war, corruption, and organized criminal activities.
