In January of 2017, President Donald J. Trump signed an executive order entitled: Protecting the Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into the United States. This order effectively barred entry to the United States for any foreign national of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria and Yemen from entering the US as well as those from North Korea and Venezuela. Furthermore, the order halted all refugee arrivals for 120 days and indefinitely stopped Syrian refugees from gaining access to the United States.
