Part 1: Online Lesson Blueprints

To begin, you should articulate a conceptual framework for your lessons that illustrates the following:

The value of continuous improvement for student success and engagement. In other words, what is your statement of purpose for creating these revised lessons?

The underlying pedagogical premises that inform your lesson design. For example, to what extent have you adjusted brick-and-mortar strategies for success in the online environment? What principles, specifically, do you draw upon to guide your new lesson design and pedagogical approach? Be sure to substantiate your claims with evidence from the literature.

Then, provide a summary of each lesson, including the grade level, subject area, standards, and lesson title. Remember that each lesson must cover at least two relevant state standards for your content area and grade level, and that the lessons should constitute approximately 90-minute class sessions. Your learning objectives for the lessons should reflect best practices in unpacking standards to identify appropriate goals.

For each lesson, define the various lesson elements in an appropriate sequence that demonstrates a scaffolded and pedagogically sound progression. Be sure that the list of lesson elements is comprehensive, including any preassessments, content delivery, formative activities, and assessments for measuring student mastery of the learning objectives.

Specifically, your lesson must include a variety of ways to check for student understanding (e.g., using differentiated and equivalent assessment options). All assessment options must reflect best practices for validly and reliably measuring student progress toward learning objectives.

For each lesson element:

Indicate the applicable feature that would be used to build the lesson element in the learning management system. Note: Refer to this Canvas webpage for a list detailing the system’s basic features.

Note whether the element should be delivered via synchronous or asynchronous methods. Remember that interactivity is a cornerstone of effective engagement in online courses, so you should be sure to consider all viable options for supporting interactive learning experiences in the LMS.

Note: All lesson materials must be included or linked within this document. Please just indicate what the material is, and I will link it in. For example, if you are using a worksheet, put what worksheet it is (name, page number, ect. And I will go from there)

Develop the student-facing content that makes up each lesson element. This should include the following:

Content to be displayed using the rich content editor of the LMS feature—This would include plain text (e.g.,“The purpose of this activity is to . . .”) and hyperlinked text (e.g., web-hosted articles, videos, etc.) as well as images. This content should be entered into the blueprint table; you should hyperlink applicable text to conserve space, instead of copying entire URLs into the table.

Associated files that would not be rendered using the rich content editor of the LMS feature—Examples of associated files include quiz question banks, downloadable templates/worksheets, detailed instructions documents, rubrics, etc. See the instructions within the template for submitting and making references to materials that do not fit into the blueprint table.

Justify the inclusion of each lesson element in terms of:

Alignment: To which lesson objectives and/or state standards does the lesson element align? How will the lesson element support students in achieving these goals?

Design Principles: To what extent does the lesson element integrate principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Understanding by Design (UbD)? Be sure to address the following aspects:

Engagement (i.e., purposeful and motivated learner; the “why?”)

Representation (i.e., resourceful and knowledgeable learner; the “what?”)

Action and expression (i.e., strategic and goal-directed learner; the “how?”)

Provide facilitation notes that explain how students will interact with the teacher, with each other, and with the learning content. Specifically, how do you plan to differentiate the instruction and/or assessment for each lesson element?

Be sure to cite all references using APA format.

One of the lesson plans is complete. Please review to ensure that it has everything that is being asked via these directions. The Conceptual Framework is highlighted for both lesson plans as PLEASE COMPLETE.
