The essay assignment is to write a 1-1.5 page essay on a modern painting of your choice. You will be using the
terminology and concepts of the elements and principles of design to effectively describe the work. You will use
your technical analysis to help inform an interpretation of the meaning/concept of the work as you interpret it, or
as you believe the artist may have intended. You want to include the kinds of descriptions and interpretations
we practiced in class.
