The most prevalent childhood disorder, ADHD, is one of the most under

The most prevalent childhood disorder, ADHD, is one of the most under and over-diagnosed disorders. ADHD is known for its characteristics of hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention. The symptoms of ADHD share many comorbidities of other mental disorders such as anxiety, depression, antisocial narcissistic, ODD, bipolar disorder, and more. Most studies have shown that ADHD does not cause these disorders but it may play a role in the emergence of these said disorders. Leaving ADHD untreated for too long can lead to some functional impairments causing an individual to be forgetful, easily distracted, miss deadlines, fail school, or perform poorly at work. Untreated ADHD can cause problems throughout life, and the stress from coping with the difficulties of this disorder for some individuals may lead to an unhealthy lifestyle.

Many studies have proven that children with attention hyperactivity disorder are not eating a balanced diet leading to several possible nutrient deficiencies. Poor diet and nutrient deficiencies are not a known cause of the emergence of ADHD, and there is no conclusive data to support this. But extensive research has documented that some individuals with ADHD have lower levels of several important vitamins and minerals. Research has shown that certain foods and ingredients have negative effects on the symptoms of ADHD, indicating that it is futile to try to identify a specific food or substance that will precipitate negative behavior in individuals diagnosed with ADHD. Since ADHD is a complex disorder, a multi-ingredient supplemental diet may be necessary to alive symptoms.

For this experiment, participants will be split into two equal groups. The first group will consist of participants with diagnosed ADHD, and the second with a history of no history of ADHD. Both groups will be divided into four smaller groups of equal proportion. The first group will be assigned processed foods, the second will be assigned a raw diet. The third group will be assigned processed foods along with controlled supplements, and the fourth group will be assigned raw with additional supplements. It is expected to see a decline or negative results in the processed food group with the possibility of a slight improvement in the processed food group with added supplements. Subjects will be directed to log their food intake throughout the day, along with any supplements given during this study. At the end of the day, participants will record any uncompleted and completed task, any improvement or decline in productivity during their day. The study will take place over the course of 6 months with monthly health check-ins. At the end of this experiment excepted the results should show significant positive effects from participants eating a raw diet and participants taking additional supplements.
