For the first reflection paper (and related to our discussion on organizational culture),
1. Based on the article and our in-class discussion of organizational culture, how would you characterize Uber’s organizational culture? Use the dimensions of organizational culture (see Class 2 slides) to conduct your analysis.
2. Assuming that Uber needs to change its organizational culture to achieve long-term success, what recommendations would you make? In other words, which aspects of its organizational culture should Uber change? Why? What specific steps can it take to change its culture (be sure to reflect on the factors/processes that maintain organizational culture)? Your paper should be between 2 and 3 pages (double-spaced). It will be graded on the following three dimensions:
1) argumentation (e.g., are evidence and/or explanations used to support your arguments?);
2) applied learning (e.g., have you effectively incorporated ideas, concepts, and/or examples from readings and/or in-class discussions?);
3) written communication (e.g., did you utilize a concise writing style, including correct spelling and grammar, proper punctuation, and adequate formatting?).
