Compare the ways poets present ideas about war in ‘Disabled’ and ‘The Bright Lights
In “Disabled”, Owen depicts the soldier as having lost all hope for his future whereas “The Bright Lights of Sarajevo” also focuses primarily on war and bloodshed but unlike “Disabled” which focuses on the theme of loss, and the dysfunction of war, “The Bright Lights of Sarajevo” contains an undercurrent of hope through romance and a belief that love can be achieved regardless of their color or race.
