Case scenario

You are a Green Mark Accredited Professional (GMAP) and work for a facilities management company. Your organisation manages an office building located within the central region of Singapore. This building was completed 15 years ago. After completion, the building was occupied by multiple tenants and did not upgrade its systems or retrofit the façade.

At first, the building owner decided to do cyclical maintenance but due to aging systems and equipment, the facilities manager suggested that it is more economical to carry out major upgrading. The owner accepted the suggestion.

However, the owner would like to enhance the asset value by applying for Green Mark certification. As you are a GMAP, you are required to conduct gap analysis and propose a plan to achieve Green Mark Goldplus.

The preliminary survey report is stated in Annex A for your review. You are required to submit a report base on the following questions. Furthermore, you are required to present a ten minutes video recording with narration to the building owner for approval.

Question 1

Describe the proper assessment procedures and identify the correct version of the BCA Green Mark Scheme to be used in order to achieve the Green Mark Goldplus award for this project.

Question 2

Calculate and provide the current Green Mark score points of the existing office building base on the preliminary findings. (Refer to Annex A)

Question 3

Demonstrate the detailed breakdown of the targeted Green Mark score points of the building and explain with appropriate proposals to achieve Green Mark GoldPLUS rating using gap analysis.

Question 4

Describe the reasons for all your proposals in relation to the criteria under the Green Mark framework.

Question 5

Demonstrate a ten minutes presentation video recording with narration to the building owner for approval. Students will be graded base on the following criteria for a ten minutes presentation video recording with narration.
