Detailed assessment instructions Tasseltine has appointed a new CEO and one of her first concerns is to address the poor and inconsistent reporting of HR issues in the company. You have been asked to produce analysis based on a review a range of statistical HR data including an employee engagement survey, an intention to leave survey and data on staff remuneration. These data and details of the questions used in the surveys can be found in the accompanying Excel workbook. The first tab of the workbook shows the questions asked in the survey. The second tab shows the possible responses to these questions. Employees were asked to respond to a set of statements relating to their engagement at work. Each of the variables used a frequency scale where 1=never to 7=always At work, I feel full of energy. In my job, I feel strong and vigorousWhen I get up in the morning, I feel like going to workI can continue working for very long periods at a timeIn my job, I am mentally very adaptableAt work, I always keep going, even when things do not go wellI find the work that I do full of meaning and purposeI am enthusiastic about my jobMy job inspires meI am proud of the work I do Employees were asked the extent to which they had the intention of quitting their job. They were asked the extent to which they agreed or disagreed (1=strongly disagree; 7=strongly agree) with each of the below statements. During the next year, I will probably look for a new job outside my current employerI am seriously considering quitting my current employer for an alternative employer The third tab of the excel spreadsheet shows the raw data that were generated from the survey and which you need to work with to produce your report. You need to produce a report of around 2500 words that analyses and presents these data. The report needs to be in MS word format with individual Excel charts and tables pasted into the document. There is a separate submission point where you must also upload the Excel workbook that you have used to create the charts and tables. The report will require the use of a combination of charts, pivot tables, pivot charts and descriptive statistics. The report should be presented professionally using appropriate charts and tables. Briefly highlight any issues that you have encountered with the dataset and survey questions and how you have addressed them. When presenting your findings ensure that you explain what information the questions are addressing and what the scores actually mean. The report should be structured as follows: Introduction Section 1 Background to the company Produce a brief description of the company and each office highlighting characteristics such as Office locationEmployee’s genderEmployee’s EthnicityEmployee’s AgeEmployee’s with part-time or full time contractEmployee’s permanent or temporary contractEmployee’s job role / job titleEmployee’s salary / salary band Section 2 Employee engagement results. Explain what the data has been collected on employee engagement and how you have processed it. Using charts and pivot tables: Present the overall company employee engagement results highlighting the mean scoresPresent the average engagement results for each officePresent the average engagement scores by gender, ethnicity and contract type etc Section 3 Intention to quit Explain what the data has been collected on intention to quit and how you have processed it. Using charts and pivot tables: Present the overall company intention to quit highlighting the mean scoresPresent the average intention to quit results for each officePresent the intention to quit scores by gender, ethnicity and contract type etc Section 4 Remuneration Using the data analysis tool produce a table showing the total, mean, median, mode, range, minimum and maximum salaries across the company and in each officeUsing charts and tables highlight any significant differences and patterns in remuneration related to gender, ethnicity and contract type etc. Section 5 Conclusions Drawing on the data you have analysed highlight any overall patterns emerging from the surveys and remuneration statistics.Discuss any relationships that you have discovered between the responses to the engagement survey, the intention to quit survey and remuneration. References If you have referred to any academic texts you must reference them using Harvard standard. The deadline for the assignment is tbc 2021 Grading criteria for the assignment are as follows: PresentationOverall presentation of the report including clarity and appropriateness of charts and tables. This includes the use of appropriate labels and headers25 %ManagementData management, simplification and critique of source materials. This includes: the use of IF statements, groups, the data analysis tool, averages, appropriate labelling etc20%AccuracyAccuracy of representations of key data and identification of key issues emerging from data.40%ClarityIntroduction and explanation of key findings and discussion of data and charts15% Formative assessment: A: Group presentations To support the development of your report there will be a formative (non assessed) group presentation covering some of the key aspects of the report. For the group presentation you will need to divide into groups of four and prepare a 20 minute powerpoint presentation that covers section 1 of the summative assessment using pivot tables and pivot charts ensuring that you chose appropriate charts, appropriate labels and use the appropriate values in the pivot tables. There will be 10 minutes feedback for each group and generic feedback for the whole class at the end of each of the two presentation workshops. You need to have established your groups by week 9 as you will be starting your group work in class that week. Group presentations will be in weeks 10 and 11 with a final support session for the individual reports in week 12. B: Group work Clean up the data in the spreadsheet to make it easier to use (you will need to have done this for the final report!) Average the scores for the employee engagement and intention to quit surveysUse IF statements to convert numerical data to text where relevant for gender, office location, ethnicity, contract typeDevelop bands and groups for age and salaryClearly label your spreadsheetsInclude new headings for the columns in the data set
