Learning Outcomes to be assessed Understand the basic principles of managing, interpreting and reporting data statistical software, such as SPSS (DP, EID, COI, PID).Interpret the results of basic statistical analyses and define key terms used in them (SID).Select and perform appropriate statistical analyses of health data (DP).Present statistical findings using graphs, tables and other appropriate analysis representations (DP, COI).Produce summaries of data held on computer (DP/EID).Demonstrate transferable data management and analysis skills (DP). Details of tasks This assessment comprises of 4 tasks, you are required to complete task 1 and 2 and select between task 3 option A or option B. Please complete all 3 tasks you have selected for your submission to meet the 3000-word count requirement. The word count in bracket are only to serve as guide, you can change this but ensure no more than 3000 words (± 10%) in total. Please use academically accepted reference/citation sources (Harvard style) for your submission as required. Task 1 Select on four (4) quantitative peer reviewed primary research studies that are relevant to statistical analysis in Public Health relating to any Public Health topic of your choice. Outline the aim of the study, the research design, critique the analysis used and the findings from each study. (total 1000 words). Task 2 Choose any four of these terms to explain (total 800 words). In the second part, a study was conducted among 1st year students in a University to determine the impact of coffee intake on test scores. Follow instructions provided for Task 3 (Option A) on Moodle (1200 words). Task 3 (Option B) This task have two aspects, you will be required to answer questions based on the observational data provided on Moodle in the first part. In the second part of this task, you are required to run SPSS analysis that you have been provided with on Moodle. You are required to show all steps involved in the analysis (1200 words). Late submissions will attract 5% deduction penalty for awarded mark.  Feedback Feedback will be available made available within 20 working days after submission. Generic feedback will be posted on Moodle after first making is completed. Individual feedback and mark will be released once first and second marking have been completed.
