This guidance focuses only on the main written sections.You are expected to use your own discretion to complete the other parts related toyour individual research topic.1. The Project Summary needs to be short, concise and in clear sentences.Imagine you are explaining your project to a friend, or family member. Startthe summary section with a sentence or two that says something broad aboutyour project. Then explain what is known about the topic of the project andwhat your approach to the project is mainly aiming to achieve. Remember youare proposing how hypothetically you would carry out a project on a healthcare topic.2. Project Details -What is the purpose of the project? Start this section with thepurpose/intention behind eg- “The purpose of this project is to…” You need tohave given enough information to be able to set up your research question. Atthis point you will have decided if you are following a quantitative or qualitativeapproach. This will then determine how you write your research question.3. What are the planned or desired outcomes? Outcomes refer to what orwhom you want the benefactors of your project to be. These are oftenexpressed in objectives. Explain your research design- What is your epistemology or designphilosophy, and how does this inform your choice of research methodology?What form of methodology are you using? The design is the overall way in which you set out your researchproject. It includes what is currently known about the topic (it’s state ofknowledge-epistemology); the underpinning thinking/framework behind thetopic-the philosophy and the way in which you plan to conduct, theprocedure and the data collection, and the way in which you plan to gatherthe data on your topic- methodology. You are expected to support thissection with appropriate references to support your design choice.5.
