The purpose of this assignment is to reflect upon the role of emotional intelligence in collaboration and planning.

To document your leadership experiences, team collaboration, and learning, you will complete a series of weekly journal entries that will be used as the basis for the Week 6 benchmark assignment. A person’s level of emotional intelligence can often determine their reaction to crises. As a public health professional, the ability to remain calm and make good decisions in sensitive, stressful situations, and to be able to read and appropriately react to the emotions of others, is of primary importance.

Consider your knowledge of self and the results of the emotional intelligence assessment you completed in Week 1 and reviewed in Week 4. In a 500-word reflection, discuss the following:

Discuss your strengths and weaknesses as they relate to emotional intelligence. Discuss whether there are specific steps you will take to develop your emotional intelligence and explain why.
Discuss how you relied on your emotional intelligence in working to identify crises, develop action steps, and collaborate with your group. Provide specific, examples as support.
