Opening the doors to educational attainment for all students by preparing parents early in their child’s life to develop a college plan.  The success of the program is its focus on early education and engagement with the family.  
 discuss how the program keeps parents engaged to expand access and opportunity for Latino students he Texas Board of Education gave final approval to a new course called Ethnic Studies: Mexican American Studies. It is the first ethnic studies course approved by the Texas board and is believed to be the first Mexican American Studies course approved by any State Board of Education. Advocates for Ethnic Studies believe it will help students understand their history and the roles they can play in their future potential. To ensure it gained approval much work had to be done by policy, education, and community leaders. Join us as the panel discusses the work to create this course, its implementation, and why ethnic studies is critical in the educational landscape for Latinos.

the attendance committee met and discussed appeals for students who have finished their restoration hours.
I met with the Equity specialist Dr. Jones and Mrs. Nickerson. Equity bootcamps
and upcoming Equity Bootcamps and walks and talks.  Faculty and staff with discuss topics about diversity, equity while walking to get coffee, tea or have lunch together. The principal will arrange coverage for those classrooms.  I create a google classroom with the help of the equity specialist.  The google classroom has resources that the staff can use to help facilitate the discussions.
YWPN Young Women’s Preparatory Network continued to discuss the book criteria.  My committee submit the final draft of the form to the committee.  If everyone agrees, the next step will to submit the finalized draft to the principals within the network.  I am excited to see what the principal think about the book criteria form. Rationale: It is imperative that students can see themselves in what they read, increase their level of empathy and cultural sensitivity, and gain greater awareness and understanding of global and multi-cultural experiences.
