This should consider the scale, identify as many other critical stakeholders as possible, materials,
structure, & other pertinent information such as but not limited to supporting documents that assist in
identifying the particular parcel of land to be developed and what the development represents to the
client and the community. (up to ~1000 words).
2. Identify the Approvals Process & forms required for application – (30 marks)
Identify the process that a DA follows (and forms required. Note: DA forms should be named
only and summarised as to their purpose do not copy/paste forms from the internet into your
report) from inception to submission including the main procedural steps, through to
application approval and mobilisation on site. You could provide commentary on any advice
or assistance available to you along the way. Note: designing your own flow chart and using it
as a ‘tool’ to refer to in describing this process is strongly advised. Copying, or pasting a flow
chart from the internet is not acceptable (up to ~1500 words)
The fees and charges for the application:
Councils have a schedule of fees that must be paid for every DA (Identify and calculate the fees required
for this particular proposal show working out as a table).
3. Stakeholder identification and engagement process – (20 marks)
Expand on critical stakeholders from (1.b above) consider designing a stakeholder engagement matrix
and strategy moving the project forward. This may include a risk analysis and register or likely impact
points or milestones in the project timeline (up to ~1000 words)
4. Summary of forthcoming processes – (30 marks)
As a (consultative) professional in your field/firm, consider the timeframes, implications and
consequences of this DA and its processes. Provide a summary outlining the likely forthcoming
processes after DA is achieved, i.e. the next steps to inform your municipal client. Note: most students
lose marks here by not suitably understanding how the project moves forward and properly advising
your client through the next steps of journey (up to 1000 words).
Points to note:

freely available online and through government reports. You must ensure that you appropriately source
and reference all information from including but not limited to websites, brochures, books and journals,
conversations etc. Assessments must be submitted online through the correct Turn-it-in. Late
submissions will be penalised as per the Curtin Late Assessment Policy in the Unit Outline.
We strongly discourage calling the authorities involved.
Wherever possible it is strongly encouraged that you utilise images, diagrams, tables etc to support your
submission.
