Go to four retail web sites and shop for a chosen product. Please indicate what the product that you are searching for. For example, if you were shopping for a pair of jeans, you might try to find similar jeans at four different retailers. You might view Victoria’s Secret, GAP, American Eagle, Guess because they all offer about the same quality and target similar markets.

  1. Reflect on your decision process in selecting Selkirk College (Colleges are non-profit service retailers). Was your decision making process extensive, limited, or habitual. Describe how you came to make this decision and what factors you considered.
  2. How would you expect the buying decision process to differ when shopping on the Internet compared to shopping in a store. Choose 2 products as examples and provide as much detail as possible.
  3. Why is geodemographic segmentation used by retailers to locate stores. Give 2 examples of local Kootenay based stores, and why they probably located where they did.
