Overview
Traditionally, proprietary information, trade secrets, patents, cost and price calculations, and company strategies were stored in file drawers and vaults at physical locations. Theft by adversaries was prosecuted as a criminal act because the thief had violated property law. Increasingly, company assets are stored digitally, in a virtual, or cyber “space” where concepts of property and ownership may not be as clearly defined. “Cybersecurity” is now an industry buzzword.

- Why do foreign countries or entities want information from businesses in other countries?
- Do you think that physical theft of information (physical take away/stealing) is still taking place (besides cyber-attacks)?
- Who should be responsible for securing company digital information – Corporate Security or Information Technology (IT) departments?
