You are required to write an individual paper of 2000 words (excluding tables, figures, and graphs) in which you will analyse the leadership styles/approaches you believe to be appropriate for project leadership in the environment and context of the project from the given case study. This assessment also revisits the concepts of power seen in Assessment 1 and for you to further apply the appropriate use of power can influence these efforts. Please refer to the Task Instructions for details on how to complete this task.ContextAll successful endeavours are the result of human effort! Every team has the same basic goal: to meet the objectives and expectations of the project. Yet each project team is unique and works on a project differently. Also, each person is unique and pursues the goals of the project differently. Project leadership is a process by which a project manager can direct, guide and influence the behaviour of the project team and participants towards accomplishing the project objectives. It is, therefore, essential that the project manager understands the characteristics and features of project management leadership to be able to apply the process effectively. Identifying and analysing leadership styles will help students to prepare for the management of the efforts of individuals who contribute to a successful project delivery from both perspectives: meeting project’s objectives and meeting people’s expectations.Task Instructions:To complete this assessment task, you must:1. Ensure that you have read the given case study and resources from the subject, as well as any additional research you may find relevant and that will add value to your report. Review your subject notes, including the Lecture slides and any other information provided by the Learning Facilitator in support of this assessment.2. The assessment should encompass the following requirements:a) Explain why you might choose one of the leadership styles discussed in this and previous module’s learning resources over another style when managing the highlighted project team.b) Describe which tools and techniques discussed in the resources you might use as a PM to influence this project team, motivate and unite them.c) Explain which of the 5 types of power (as described in Shenoy web article) you would employ to motivate the team members to work collaboratively and how they impact the project’s success.d) Explain the methods for developing self-managed teams for Agile projects and discuss whether this is viable for this project team from the case study.e) As a project manager, what tools and techniques discussed in the resources are appropriate for managing communication outside of the project group?f) Describe the steps you might take, as project manager, to alleviate challenges faced by your project team before those challenges grow so large that they damage the work environment or the final product.
